Your Identity x2

Sometimes, you’ve just got it. There’s a different kind of confidence that shines when quality is shared rather than flaunted. Some people have a naturally rich style that’s effortless yet deep and complex. This character is never showy or high maintenance.

Doesn’t that sound like me???

LOL, it’s off the back of my wine bottle… A wine bottle that I bought literally for these reasons:

1. It was only $5

2. The brand said “NAKED” so that made me feel like I was buying something more vegan and healthy

For real tho… It does sound like me. I am an INFJ Empath Leo. I’m not going to get into that too much, but know, if you google them each, its me to a tee. I’m an onion with infinite layers and I learn more about myself every single day. Do YOU know yourself? I mean really know yourself - like as deeply as you can! Not just your favorite drink at Starbucks, favorite store, color, or HGTV show… Do you know what makes you tick? Do you know your fears? Strengths? Values? Dreams? What about your vulnerabilities? Getting to know yourself on the deepest level that you can is not a one day task, it is a journey - it is part of your life, and IT TAKES COURAGE AND INTENTIONALITY to rip through those layers. If you’re ready to do that or have already started, THAT’S AMAZING and you should be SO SO PROUD!

Here’s another question, do you know your identity in Christ? That might be a little bit more difficult to answer, but think about it for a moment…

“Christian self-hood is not defined in terms of who we are in and of ourselves. It’s defined in terms of what God does to us and the relationship He creates with us and the destiny He appoints for us. God made us who we are so we could make known who He is. Our identity is for the sake of making known His identity.”

When we accept Jesus Christ into our hearts as our Lord and Savior, we do not lose ourselves, BUT WE BECOME OUR TRUE SELVES...IN HIM. We basically become super versions of ourselves. We get God’s strength as ours, His peace as ours, His love as ours. HE gives US so many wonderful gifts! HIS IDENTITY BECOMES OURS. When that happens, we will radiate and we will glorify Him wherever we go.

So there’s that. These were my thoughts as I drank my “not so healthy” NAKED Cabernet Sauvignon in my backyard and shot my bow in anxious anticipation for hunting season (RATED R: 21+ Only combine drinking wine and shooting bows at home with parental supervision.).

Verses That Help Me:

1 Corinthians 6:17 - “But whoever is united with the Lord is one with Him in spirit.”

Is ONE. ‘nuff said.

Romans 6:6 - “For we know that our old self was crucified with Him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin.”

We. Are. Freed. Our “old self” is gone, it died once and for all with Jesus on the cross. The “body ruled by sin” is alllll thanks to our rebellious sin-loving nature inherited from Adam. So thoughtful… Thanks bruh. Our body is not evil, SIN IS EVIL. Before we were saved we were slaves to our sinful nature, but now we can choose to live for Christ.

Galatians 2:20 - “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

Legally, God looks at us as if we died with Christ. Our debts were paid so now we are free and clear. Relationally, we have become ONE. His experiences are ours. Every day, let’s thank Jesus and try to be our best selves. We have some truly amazing footsteps to follow.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 - “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies.”

HONOR God with your body. Practice His standards of living.
